ARTESONRAJU

Artesonraju (6025 m) is one of the most iconic peaks in the Cordillera Blanca — famously known as the "Paramount Pictures" mountain 🎬. There are no easy routes to its summit; every side presents steep snow and ice slopes. This itinerary follows the route via Parón Lake, which is the most popular approach, but requires excellent fitness and prior mountaineering experience.

Itinerary

  1. Day 01: Huaraz – Caraz – Parón Base Camp (4340 m)

After breakfast, we head north to the town of Caraz and continue by vehicle to Laguna Parón (4156 m). From there, a 3–4 hour hike takes us to our base camp.

🚨 Note: During certain seasons, the trail around the lake may be submerged due to water level rise. In such cases, kayaks or boats may be used to reach the trailhead safely.
